Upgrading my computer, need help/advice

Recently my video card crapped out so I thought I would take this opprotunity to upgrade some of the hardware on my computer. After looking around on Newegg for a while I realized I know a lot less about compatibility of hardware than I thought. So instead of trying to wrap my head around finding a decent working mobo/processor/hard drive combo myself, I decided to bring it up here and read some advice or tips from people a lot more experienced with this than I am. After I figure out what mobo to use then I'll know what kind of video card and ram I'll need, but until then I'm stuck. This computer will be used for gaming mostly, and I have a price cap at around $800 for the whole lot. I am looking for good speed at a good deal, as for the hard drive I won't need more than 160gb. Any advice anyone? Thanks in advance.

 

sh** i can help u madly at that my first build was about 800 but if u give me a 1000 bucks limit ur good to go.
