I have a AMD Athlon XP 1700+, and a K7S5A ECS motherboard. Now, I am going out to the computer store in a few hours so I need help quickly, I want to buy a new processor today, but I heard recently that Socket 462(Which is what I am using) is no longer made. So I wanted to know if I can buy a socket 462 processor, and if some recent motherboards support 462.

I want to buy the processor and use it now till I gather up enough money to buy a new motherboard, so should I? I mean, should I buy a Socket 462? Because I don't want to buy it and then realize that no recent motherboards support it. And what would a new mother board do for me? And can someone tell the highest GHz and FSB a processor with 462 has?
