I'm trying to get UPnP running on my Acer HP340 NAS running Windows Home Server 2009.
    I've run UPnPTEST.exe and get
TEST 1 - Operating System Support - PASSED
TEST 2 - SSDP Service Running Check - PASSED
TEST 3 - SSDP Service Automatic Check - PASSED
TEST 4 - UPnPHost Service Running Check - PASSED
TEST 5 - UPnPHost Service Automatic Check - PASSED
TEST 6 - UPnP Framework Firewall Exception Check - PASSED
    TEST 7 - Adapter #0 - 192.168.1.3 - FAILED
TEST 8 - Get External IP Address (Result: 65.78.169.51) - FAILED
UPnP Test Program v1.16 Copyright Mark Gillespie 2010

'm running a Netgear WNDR 3700v4 router and UPnP is turned on

I turned off Windows Firewall on the server. Not running any virus software on server

When I run UPnPTEST from my Windows 7 PC it passes test 7&8.

    Looking for suggestions????

Your sense of entitlement is amazing. I came to help but am less inclined to now.

Did you verify the external IP was correct according to the test?

How many adapters do you have?

IP address of adapter is correct.
There's only one cat5 connection on the NAS.
I'm sorry about my post. Starting to get frustrated with lack of response.

    No worries.

So, I am not extremely familiar with UPnP, but is it actually causing you any issues? The tests its failing do not seemingly seem fatal if the info is indeed correct.

I'm trying to set up a HTPC. I have all my movies and music stored on my NAS. Trying to use TotalMedia Theater. It wants UPnP to search for movies. I thought it would be simple to set up UPnP on the NAS. Been fighting with it for days....

Are you using DNS from the router or did you specify it manually?

If getting it from router automatically, maybe try setting a static address on the NAS will help.

IP from DHCP pool, Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, Default gateway of router address, DNS to be the same as router address.

Originally DNS was from router. It's now hard coded to Google DNS IP 8.8.8.8
NAS IP is now hard coded to 192.168.1.12. Router is 192.168.1.1
Still getting FAIL on TEST 7 and 8.
    Daaa.

I've been looking around, and for some people, it is a router firmware issue.

Set WHS back to automatic (DHCP), and maybe see if your router has any firmware updates?

Checked Netgear's website. I'm running the latest router software.....

Here is a nutty idea. Put your NAS in DMZ zone on router and see if it passes.

Turned on DMZ in router, pointed to my NAS. Reran UPnPtest. Still fails on TESTs 7 and 8
