UPS stung me

I often order stuff from outside Canada, often use UPS for stuff INside Canada.
I ordered some parts for my PC case project from a place in the US, $92 + $21 UPS Canada standard.
I figured since it's electronics I would get stung the 13% sales tax on delivery, I came home and my girl informs me she used her credit card to pay the ... $47!

50% of my original order!, it was $12 Customs change and tax and $35 for UPS handling fee.
So for them to do what I paid them $21 for and carry the package from Origin, through customs and to destination... they charged me an extra $35 to sit and wait for it to come through customs, man they must make a lot of money.

Not happy about that because for that price I could have had it next day.

They're famous for that. You can insist that you'll clear it yourself, but you have to go pick it up. And getting someone at UPS who understands that option can be a challenge too.

You might ask the shipper if they offer the option of shipping via the United States Postal Service (USPS). USPS has a Global Priority Mail option that (according to the USPS website) averages 5-6 day delivery.

If the Canadian Postal Service doesn't screw you with an extra $35 on top of customs, it might be worth it.

I don't see anything on their page about a $35 handling fee, unless I missed it?

I would send them an email, they tried screwed up in charging our company for a delivery. We sent out a package as commercial but because he runs his business out of his house, UPS decided it was "residential" and tried to charge us twice. Charged us once for the "commercial" delivery and then again when they decided it was "residential" (which apparently costs more, I don't know why). An email had straightened things out.

They had the option but it was slower and more expensive... or so I thought.
Canada post charges $5 for the same thing.

@Dyamond.. I intend to email them about it because I think it's outrageous.
