    Hello,

I recently have been having problems with everytime I do a google search getting a site that says "Upspiral" or Red Zip or something of that nature. I have seen the previous threads regarding this and have tried everything listed in the run these first. Unfortunately when I restarted after being in safe mode, the first search came up with upspiral again. I also tried following the thread where you helped someone else out. I didn't have any of the information on hijack that you suggested fixing. Can you please help me?? This is extremely aggravating.

    Thanks,

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Thanks for the quick response. I had already done the instructions. I ran Ccleaner in safe mode. It deleted a bunch of cookies. I ran adaware and it found nothing. I ran spybot and it found 2 Windows.security.center problems and fixed those. I then ran the online Bitdefender, but it found nothing.

I followed the Hijack this thread and attached is my log. I really would appreciate your help. this is driving me crazy.

    Thanks,

If you are using WinXP or WinMe, make sure you have system restore disabled (per the tutorial).
For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).
Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://bfc.myway.com/search/de_srchlft.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/myway
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllmj.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: Bho - {EFDAC3FE-F44A-4030-8589-1E23BC6573D5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jjkmyyby.dll
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra button: MUSICMATCH MX Web Player - {d81ca86b-ef63-42af-bee3-4502d9a03c2d} - http://wwws.musicmatch.com/mmz/openWebRadio.html (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete (You may not find them!):
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllmj.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jjkmyyby.dll
    C:\Program Files\MyWaySA <---the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\MyWay <---the whole folder
    C:\Program Files\MyWaySearch <---the whole folder

Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST). Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1) If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2) Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3) If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

Now reboot in normal mode and continue with below.

Copy the contents of the below Quote Box to Notepad. Then click File and then Save As. Change the Save as Type to All Files. Name the file fixMW.reg and then click save. (make sure you save it somewhere you can find it. Saving it to your Desktop may make that easy.) Then double-click on the fixMW.reg file on your desktop (or locate it with Windows Explorer and double click on it if not saved to the Desktop) and when it prompts to Add in to the registry, say yes.
Now post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.

    Thanks,

It seems to have worked. I wasn't able to do the last part with the registry. I double clicked on it and it asked me if I wanted to add it to my registry. I said yes and an error came up saying I could not add it. It seems to be working all right though. Those sites have not been coming up. I have added my new hijack this log.

    Thanks for your help.

It looks like some of the changes did not work. This may be due to the fact that you have Ad-Aware's Adwatch running. You need to shut it down and repeat the steps in my previous message including the registry patch. I modified the registry patch. I had a few lines in it that probably did not match for you PC.
