    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

    Hi there

Thank you for your response. I proceeded according to the directions you provided, but the spyware still remained. I, therefor, scanned with 6 different antispywares you suggested, and hereby attaching the reports.

Please note that since some of these were too time consuming, I could do these scans over a period of a week, and not on the same day. Also, I tried but could not boot my computer in safe-mod, so these scans were done with normal windows boot mode.

I will really appreciate your help, as the performance of my computer is severly affected, and it has become very difficult to do any work.

    I really appreciate your help

Please re-run avg anti-spyware and have it fix/delete/quarantine everything that it finds.

You are running HJT from the wrong location ....please uninstall and re-install as directed in the Read and Run First instructions. It should be in its own folder, not in your documents or on the desktop!

Continue by downloading a tool we will need - Pocket KillBox

Save it to its own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate it later.

    Now
    1. Download this file - ComboFix.
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Can you locate and delete this folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\??crosoft

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AD5FA779-D22A-4F72-8B50-48134534B15D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhhg.dll (file missing)
    02 - BHO: (no name) - {CA2CFBDE-0F94-491B-9286-00C60C553954} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcayxu.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D651AFF4-9590-424d-BD1E-8E33E090DFB3} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gxasqxkh.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsService] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ygeugbbh.dll",realset
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddcayxu - ddcayxu.dll (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkhhg - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhhg.dll (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: vtstq - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtstq.dll (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.
NOTE: Pocket Killbox will only list the added files it is able to find on the system. So when you do the below, if some files do not show in the list after pasting them in, just continue.

    Select:

    * Delete on Reboot
    * then Click on the All Files button.*(or on the folders option)*
    * Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\b122.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\fccbyxx.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ygeugbbh.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hbbguegy.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdvwfxih.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmllm.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qqstv.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qqstv.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vjkpxgii.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vjkpxgii.ini

    * Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    * Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click the box to unregister .dll's. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt.

If you receive a PendingFileRenameOperations prompt, just click OK to continue (But please let me know if you receive this message!).

If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT
    4. Combo Fix log

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

    * Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
    * Click the Scan for Vundo button.
    * Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
    * You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
    * Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
    * When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
    * Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the
Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Please attach the Vundo log and
    ShowNew
    Getrun

The files I had you dump with Pocket Kill box have returned and they are definitley malware that Vundo should have picked up and removed. Please try running it again.
Also .....unhook yourself from your network when you do this. Do you have other computers running VPN server?

    Hi there,

I tried running Vundofix after disconnecting from network, and still no result.

I sometimes connect to my office server with VPN, if that what you were asking. But I did not connect it during the time I was running these antispywares, not connected in the past whole week as a matter of fact.

Please suggest me what should I do next.

    Thanks

Please run Windows Explorer and delete the below files. If you cannot delete them, reboot into safe mode and delete the files.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ghhkj.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hbbguegy.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdvwfxih.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmllm.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qqstv.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\qtstv.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vjkpxgii.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\xurwtwun.ini

Let me know if you have any problems trying to do the above.

You still have part of a Purity Scan infection showing. Do you see the below folder? Note the creation date of Apr 28th. In Windows Explorer it may look like the folder name is Tasks (or something else). Delete this folder.
    Code:

    "C:\Documents and Settings\Deepak Grover\My Documents\"
    çASKS Apr 28 2007 "çasks"
Now attach a new log from ShowNew.

Your log is clean. If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix you can delete the ComboFix.exe file and associated C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    9. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
