    Disable Avast so you can attach the requested logs. Then re-enable.

    A hiccup power outage knocked me offline, and took the malware scans I was doing with it. I had them all still open and not saved

    This is what seems to be causing me all the problem:

    Process: C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\f...
    Infection: URL:Mal

    Then delete it and rescan with the tools and attach the logs.

    I can only assume that you had MBAM fix what it found.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKCU\[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\Documents and Settings\ROSS\Application Data\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe [7]) -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-1078081533-764733703-725345543-1003\[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\Documents and Settings\ROSS\Application Data\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe [7]) -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

    Now delete these items:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Scheduled tasks : 2 ¤¤¤
    [V1][SUSP PATH] At5.job : C:\DOCUME~1\ROSS\APPLIC~1\DIGITA~1\UPDATE~1\UPDATE~1.EXE - /Check [x] -> FOUND
    [V1][SUSP PATH] ArcadeFrontier.job : C:\Documents and Settings\ROSS\Local Settings\Application Data\ArcadeFrontier\veragent.exe [7] -> FOUND
    Now reboot and rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach those logs as well.

    Re: Malware logs attached

    I had occasion to talk with an instructor at the nearby high school who teaches computer classes and holds a degree in computer sciences. He walked me through several steps to include deleting a number of programs, add on's and restoring Mozilla Firefox to its original settings.
    Avast is not displaying threats like it was at almost every strike of a key.
    Unless you suggest I look for something else, rerun the scans as insurance or the like, I will assume the problem solved.
    My apologies for not realizing MBAM was not attached in my previous postingI just finished a full Avast scan which found nothing.
    Thank you for your help

    You're welcome.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
