url problem

This is what I get when I enter a url or click on a url in a drop down, c:\windows\usheagssssyss.htm#. That proceeds any url that I type.
I've reloaded XP Pro, searched for this link, set opening page to about blank, and done just about everything I can think of.
I'm out of ideas and getting close to getting into the beer.
Any ideas that may help me out. I can't get on the net to d/l any virus programs. MSIE says it's a bad url, no shit, I know that.

 

I believe it's an old (old old) IE 6 JScripting vulnerability, I don't know how you're accessing MG but try downloading Opera or another browser adn use that, and this belongs inSoftware not in the Lounge...

 

I'm accessing majorgeeks from another computer.

I really don't care where this thread belongs for I don't know that it is a software problem, that's why I went to 'lounge'. Do you want to help me or do you want to bust my balls?

I'll try d/l another browser to see if that will clear the problem.

 

This is a software problem, it DOES belong in the software forum, and I will bust your balls because it is a software problem (unless it's a netwokring problem, then it goes in the networking forums, or the hardware forum if it involves the hub/switch/modem/wiring/)

Version of IE? All latest updates? What are the links, is it a hash or a bang?

It does, I just did one on my parents comp and some XML vuln or something but that's not the point, I'd try just re-installing, the real problem is either real deep or real apparents, both ways it's hard to figure it out...

Sundancer. ALL computer questions go in one of the support forums ,which ever fits best to your problem. If you feel none of the forums fit, then just take your best guess as to which SUPPORT forum you should put it in.
