US mess up the clocks weekend....

Daylight Saving Time Around the World 2011 ​

 

We did it last weekend here.

 

Dumbest idea ever. Why do we still do this ?

 

As did the rest of the world. But in the US we changed when we do it in some ridiculously misguided attempt at either saving energy or making kids safer on their way to school, depending on who you ask. It's dumb, and older electronics all change when the rest of the world does. Which means for a week, half of my house is an hour off from the rest of it.

 

For people who work outside still, farmers, construction, etc, means more light to work.

 

I blame global warming.

The Extra Hour of Sunlight really helps my Garden. :foolish roflmao

I think it's depressing when sunset is around 5:00 P.M.

 

It somehow never works out that way for me no matter which way we're changing the clocks.

Sunrise here tomorrow is at 7:17. Some schools open at 8 meaning School Bus lines in the dark. THIS is a valid reason as I remember it was dark when I was working in Maine. The other side is more accidents occur at dusk.

 

I used the extra hour to pull off a multi million pound bank heist!

 

Why can't these people just get up an hour earlier and leave everyone else alone ?

 

Reason why women should not drive.

 

I'll just say it takes me a couple of weeks to get used to the change and as I don't work anymore it really doesn't matter.

I hate it! Can you tell I have strong feeling about this. I take the train and then the bus home. I get to the bus stop between 6:30 and 7. It is already starting to get dark by the time I get to the bus. Once they change it , it will be dark by the time I get on the train! The bus home runs once an hour, i and, if I miss it, I get to sit for an hour. Now I will get to sit for an hour in the dark until they change it back in the Spring! It's depressing.
I like to walk in the evening. sigh...

One good thing about the time I lived in AZ no time change! However, that did not make up for the heat in the summer! :-D
