I'm running windows XP on a computer that is less than a year old, but I've had to replace the modem four times due to storm damages. I just recently bought a US Robotics modem and it works fine other than the fact that occasionally (about once a day) the driver crashes and I have to restart the computer.

I ran a full system restore today for reasons unrelated to the modem. It's still doing it. What might be causing it and how can I fix it?

Did you let windows install the drivers automatically, or did you use a driver disk that came with the computer. Also, have you tried seeing if there are any updated drivers for that modem from the USR website?

I installed the driver with the cd that came with the modem, and I've tried to update. Still does it.
