I am an old school dude, I know all there is to know about RS232 serial. But USB is a Puzzle to me.

I am not sure if this thread goes under hardware, software, or drivers. I have an oldish notebook pc with only USB 1.1 ports. What is involved in upgrading them to USB 2.0? Is is a driver change? Software? Or a hardware device? I know I can buy a device called a "USB 2.0 hub", but it sounds like just an expander module for already existing 2.0.

    Thanks.

Your only option with a laptop is to buy a PCMCIA to USB2 device.

Rats. I was afraid of something like that. I already have a wireless lan adapter hanging out of a slot. I guess I will have to look into another protrusion. Thanks for the quick response.

Unless it's an apple with an ilink (firewire or IEEE1394) connection. You can get adapters for these too.

Not limited to Apple, only. Even old MS laptops sometimes have these type of connections. Check out the manual that came with the laptop.

BTW, DukOfURL, love your nic. :major :D :cool Bazza
