Can a cable modem, connected to a computer through a direct USB connection, somehow connect to a router and give internet to everything else?

    My setup:

Wall-Cable Splitter-One to TV one to cable modem - USB from cable box to computer.

    Nope.

USB is problematic for such purpose the best cost effective solution is to buy an External Ethernet Modem.

Dern. Well, after tinkering with it late into the night I got the ethernet side wrorking. I think that my cable modem has sensitivity issues. Just afraid to succeed and be all it can be. God help me if the power goes out.
