    Hello,

I've been trying to get my PC to recognize my dance pad which connects to my computer via USB. The device works fine on my old windows XP computer, but on my new computer running windows 8 pro I get an error pop up that says it has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.

In device manager it is displayed as an Unknown device. I have tried updating my USB hub drivers and using all of my USB ports. My computer has 2.0 and 3.0 USB ports. I am stumped as to what else I can try. It seems my only option is to plug it into my old computer to play it, but it doesn't make sense that there isn't a way to get it to work on windows 8.

Any help? If there's any other specific pieces of information you want let me know. Thank you.

Give the brand and model number. I suspect Win 8 doesn't include the driver needed to recognize this hardware.
