usb device not recognized flashes repeatedly

    this the second time this has happened i used combofix and it stopped but when i go to device manager the keeps refreshing im not sure what it is but i did just get this dell laptop for xmas. when i click on the notification it does tell me what it is and plus when i come out of standby it says this and there is no usb device pluged in plus there are other issues but i wana get rid of this because im thinking that this is messing with my windows phone because zune doesnt let me sync (even though i have fixed it once already)

    Hi

    Why did you need to use Combofix? was it that you have malware or suspect malware on your PC?

    If so then as many USB issue can be malware related follow the below and when our malware experts give you an all clear and the issue is still with you post back to this thread with a link to your malware thread and mention the issue is still the same with USB.

    I take it you are using Windows 7 SP1?

    Yeah i did think it was virus related but im just not sure but ill give it a go and see. yes Windows 7 SP1 x64

    Just to follow up, after deleting the file that Chaslang mentioned and answering his other question on saving files to desktop are you still having the USB issue?

    not recently but my windows phone is still not syncing to zune i have fixed it before but the same error came back WPD application is using the phone but i have no idea what the program is

    Hi

    I would try the info HERE to see if it can resolve your WP7 issue, I have a Windows 7 Phone so can try some of the steps also and have deleted the USB Windows Phone Driver and reinstalled just by unplugging and plugging in the phone again after a reboot and it re-installs the driver ok.

    Do go through the guide step by step in the order written.
