USB Devices with XP SP2

    I just recently updated to SP2 (I know - a bit behind the times:-o). However, since doing so, my PC seems to recognise USB devices but will not access them. This applies to an external hard drive and also to a flash drive. They show up in the Device manager and the "disconnect" icon appears on the taskbar.

    I am guessing (& hoping) that there is some simple setting that needs to be switched. Any suggestions?

    just curious when you look at the properties? What does that tell you?
