Hi guys, I don't know if this is the right thread for this question, but:
one of my friends was telling me that USB flash sticks are a big scam made by companies. He said that the 128 MB stick is the same exact one as the 2 GB one, but they just 'lock' the rest of it in order to be able to sell it for cheaper and therefore sell more of it. Anyone know if that is true? And if so, is there a way you can 'unlock' it to use the remaining 1920 MB?

Your friend is wrong, different chips do have different storage amounts, and the scam part is true, except anything over the actual available storage when used just corrupts or damages the stored files.
