I'm looking to replace my USB..my previous one was for UK 240v so now I need a US 110v one.

Many support both 1.1 and 2.0 peripheral devices....I understand that. But when it details the Hub system requirements it states you need a 2.0 port on your PC. Does it have to be a 2.0 port that you plug it into on your PC, or will it work equally well on a 1.1 USB port, only at a slower speed? My PC is pre- 2.0 days, as are some of my peripherals. I understand the hub will support both, but will my PC support the Hub?

What does the term "backward compatible with USB 1.1 mean?

Can anyone recommend a cheap Hub?

I would appreciate any helpful advice...thanks in advance guys :)

You can get a 4-port hub from Wal-Mart for $20, I think, or less. I'd go with an externally powered one though.

I'd say it will run just fine, at slower speed though.
only problem i see is that if you run winXP the alert message will drive you nuts, so turn it off

That's just what I needed to know, thanks Wyatt, and I agree with you on externally powered :)

Thanks everyone for your advice...you've been great :)
