Maybe I can get some help here
I Have a plasma tv and it has a usb port
    I also have
    -nintendo
    -wii
    -amazon fire stick with kodi
    -google fiber DVR/internet

somehow everything got Fkd up and isnt connected, I think my USB hub died and I got a new one with 4 inputs

still this stuff is a pain to connect since I have vision issues...but

    I have like 4 questions

    1
Can't I connect the TV to the usb hub?
so my fiber/Cable input would go to usb hub 1
    wii usb 2
    fire stick 3
    nintendo 4?

I always have trouble with the Firestick/kodi, anyone know a good site to learn how to use kodi?
I have used it before, I'm just got proficient

The manufacturer of my TV (which could be different from yours) said that I would need to plug a USB provider into my TV in order for the TV to do anything with the USB hub. In other words, plug a computer into the TV using the USB (probably USB1) and the USB hub would route other connections to the USB (USB2, 3, 4) back to the computer. This is really what a HUB means, the device routes USB data to one "target" (the computer) by taking USB "source" (from input devices). Note that a USB hub is a different term with a different meaning than something like "3 USB ports." or "10 USB ports" listed as spec for TV.

Thus, maybe there is nothing wrong with the USB hub on your TV. You might just be misunderstanding what it does. Also, it doesn't sound like it does what you want it to do. Thus, you are correct in looking to other devices for a solution.

You mention connecting 4 devices. USB 1 is where you are sending the data. Given the devices that you mention, it seems like you are trying to send data to the TV (you want these devices to display a picture on your TV). You are not trying to send anything to the internet router.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of the USB port on some of these devices. On gaming consoles, the USB is probably for plugging a hard drive into. It might not be able to output video to the TV through that. I am not knowledgeable but I'd imagine that's the case.

At the end of the day, I think you can plug the TV into USB1 and the fire stick into USB2, and that would work.

    Not sure.

Best way is to move it closer to upstairs. Another option is to get a wifi booster. Last option is to pay for a second internet service (have 2 high speed lines, 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs).

You were also alluding to plugging the set top box into the USB hub. I am not so sure that that device can output the video data through that port. Try just plugging that into the TV through HDMI.

thanks guys, been busy this weekend and I'll get on the advise steps asap
I can't move the internet hub upstairs, the cord comes in via a whole in my wall(by by sliding door) downstairs
    according to my phone
    I get 168down/54 uppupstairs
    and
207down.164 up sitting downstairs near the intertnet hub
