USB Malfunction

For some odd reason, all of the USB slots on my computer have stopped working. This became noticeable when I had trouble getting my zen micro and ipod to work.

I unplugged my mouse (because I knew that was a working USB slot) then plugged in the zen micro and it said in a little bubble bottom right "This device has malfunctioned blah blah "

Now I cannot get my mouse to work or anything else USB related on my computer because it says the device is malfunctioned.

I have no idea what to do and a format is not really a viable option for me.

I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2 installed on a ASUS K98 SE Deluxe Mother board.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    New amazing development.

My other computers mouse works on the broken usb computer, but the other mouse doesn't work on either computer.

Did my computer break my mouse? I can't even get the mouse optic light to turn on, and I know people have the same problems with iPods.

    What is going on?
