USB Motorised Web Cam not recognised

This is the third such camera I have tried to install. The previous two worked on other XP systems so well, that's where they stayed. But alas, I cannot get my system to recognize the drivers I have installed. For that matter, the camera itself is not showing any power into it. All USB's work with other peripherals such as printers, mp3 players etc.

Device Manager under "Unknown Device" reports "No drivers are installed for this device" and Troubleshooting and help in Windows suggest that I should have a USB Root Hub within my device manager, but I cannot find anything described as such. Checking "Windows Hardware Compatabillity List" from which I can only ascertain that the latest SP's should correct the problems. I have checked the Bios and all is enabled, but still no "USB host controller" heading under the heading " Universal Serial Bus controllers"

At some stage I am asked to check under other devices for EHCI compliant USB host controller, but that is not there either, just "SM Bus controller" with an exclamation point in a yellow circle, and a properties status code 28 whch takes me back to the WHCL.

I do not know where to go from here. As stated earlier, I have installed the same cameras on other systems without a problem.

Attached is an Everest report. To clarify, the system has 2 front and 4 back USB ports and I am running a 4 port USB hub from one of the back ports. The camera does not install with or without the USB hub.

Could you guys please put me out of my misery....:cry
