    Greetings all,
    I have desktop running Windows 10 1803 and I'm a little puzzled.
I have a 802.11n wifi USB dongle set up via a PCI card and it works fine. When I connect the same USB dongle to the USB input on the front of the desktop I get a 'USB not recognised' warning.
I tried troubleshooting devices without any success.

    Any thoughts?
    regards,
    s.

do other usb devices work properly when connected to the usb ports on the front of the desktop?
i, sometimes, have wondered why we are given 14,000 usb ports on computers. yes, usb is everywhere,
but it is just so fussy at times.

    good luck with it.

Yes usually. I use the front USB's when I want to boot from USB.
Just doesn't like this particular wifi adaptor.

Sometimes the front usb's on a pc might be usb 1, and the rear usb 2, or even usb 3, in later models- might possibly need the usb 2 to work properly for the wifi.
