confused Hello, I am upgrading a friends older computer. It is an Abit BH-6 running an Intel PIII 866/256/100 on an Abit Slot adapter. He has 512MB of PC-100 ram, an nvidia agp card, a v.92 modem and an ethernet and sound card installed.

I installed a USB2.0 adapter card I bought from Newegg. It is a Rosewill RCR-101. I have installed about a half dozen of these in oplder PIII's that did not come with a USB header and have had no problems at all.

PROBLEM: With the card installed in any of the PCI slots-the PC will not boot. I would appreciate it if anyone had any ideas on this. Thanks for your time folks, Gato

It could be worth looking at the bios, to see if it is set to look for pci graphics, before agp.
It is possible that it thinks the pci card for the usb, is a graphics card and finding it incompatable.

Hello and thanks for your reply. We will check that setting to see if it makes a difference. Thx
