You didn't read the post to see that he's resolved his issue?

  2. Wow you guys complain of haveing 2 GHZ and want 3?! I only got my old computer which only has an old PIII Clereon chip outputting 600 MHz. I Have even had to do a boatload of work to it so it runs ok and gets me around the net and does what i need it to do but my next move is a laptop once i am old enough to apply for geeksquad in a few months. Rebuild this thing with a decent P4 chip and give her windows xp and she should be happy. Its a custom this computer and the manfacturer is AOpen. Thats what i really like how reliable it is though cause it can have like absolutely no resources and not crash and always runs when school work has gotta be done. And im sorry if i was a pain in this thread I was just trying to find a way to help out a bit. Im still learnin so bear with me lol.

TBH.. no probs as this was one issue that could have gone many ways... when BJ first mentioned this I thought hardware/drivers... then knowing him and what he would have tested... the only thing left was registry as no matter what hardware was to be installed it came up with same error.. so going through Bios and Dev Manager wouldnt help as the registry doesnt want to know about DM... but at the time I knew some issues dealing with corrupted permissions but dint know which ones would deal with USB.

But good that BJ experimented on his PC, ( cheers BJ ) as it now shows all of us a possible fix to this issue.. which is what these forums are about, helping each other :)

    I'm learning each day!

No, actually I didn't see the post stating that he solved the problem. Otherwise I wouldn't taken the time to contribute. First..my system was online all night, so I guess the site wasn't refreshed. Second..whats the harm in posting some useful info that someone might be able to use in the future. Also, there's a few things I could say about your little "ignorance" quote, but it's not worth my time.
Theres always someone who has to start some obnoxious nonsense.

Opps...sorry, but I didn't realize until just now seeing another of your posts that you use the "Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance." quote all the time. I thought it was directed at me and my mistake of continuing with advice after the problem was solved. Sometimes tempers flare on these forums. Techs can be tempermental. Sorry.

I think you can also look at my previous posts to know that I don't fit that profile.

Incidently, do you understand what the quote from Confucious (sp?) means?

    Allow me to translate:

Real knowledge is knowing that you don't know it all. It applies to everyone, including myself...
