my usb ports have started acting up on me. i get a pop up message saying that usb devices can not be recognized. then they stop working. i checked the device manager and it says that there are no drivers installed. i went online and downloaded them and installed them. i restarted the computer and they worked for a few minutes then i got the message again and they stopped working. i checked and it again said that there were not drivers installed for it even though i had just done it. anyone have any advice? im using windows xp with and Abit motherboard (intergrated usb)

Have you tried checking for viruses or spyware? Also check to see if your BIOS is settings for the USB's is correct.

Try these first and let us know what you come up with.

If you need anti-virus you can try AVG Free at Lavasoft.com.

Ad-Aware SE Personnal is free at Grisoft.com:) This is good for spyware removal.

If you still have problems come back and let us know.:)
