Usbstor.pnf

What's the latest version of the WinXP system file "usbstor.pnf". Mine is dated 10/22/2003. The reason I'm asking is I had to copy this file from another computer running XP home to get my USB 2.0 storage device to work. Thanks

the properties date on mine are Created 10/03/04 and a Modified of 21/03/04 sadly that file has no version data to acurately date the version.

did you goto windows update and check for USB2.0 updates?

I tried searching for the file by name and didn't find it. I'll try USB 2.0 updates and see how that works. Thanks.

No luck on USB 2.0 update search. All you do at Microsoft's website is go around in circles.

I posted this in another thread earlier, dunno why I didnt suggest this to you........

Device Manager is there either a yellow ! or red X in the list if so double click it and click driver from the top tab > update driver > next and XP will attach to the net and look for any updates and install them ( funny I just tested my Intel USB host controller and got an update BONUS! )

do this for all the USB devices and see what you get?

I woudl backup stuff tho as updates have been know to kill stuff.... I had a USB2.0 driver update that did just that, installed wrong updates to devices I didnt have!
