    :confused Hi,

I am about to work at home for a company using a wyse terminal and an avaya phone, which each require the use of one ethernet connection via a router.

My husband works for the same company, and he would like to work at home as well.

What I would like to know is if we can use the same internet connection to do it.

The router is wired to a modem (Siemens speedstream 6520 adsl gateway) by the uplink port in the router (using it as a switch).

I have been hearing rumours that the phones cant work unless we use a separate internet connection for each phone(as in pay for a second modem with a different connection or maybe get a second ip)

The phones will be connected to a Citrix server at work.

    Is this true?
Or will both phones work off my one connection, divided via a router?
I am wondering if the issue is simply a matter of bandwidth( I believe we have more than enough, we have a high tier of DSL, no bandwidth cap), or is it an ip issue.

Any help you could provide would be most appreciated, the it people at work haven't been very helpful; I'm told to try it and see if it works.rolleyes

    Thanks, Sheila

In theory it should work, but would require the admins to allow multiple connections to the terminal server from one ip, as basicly you and your husbands would have the same external ip.
