I have six users set up on my Windows 7 laptop. I used to see all six user photos when I booted the machine, now I only see my own...how can I get the other 5 people's photos to show when we boot up?

You could also try this, if you have XP (you will need to do it from an admin account):
Go to: Control Panel > User Accounts > Advanced Tab > Uncheck "Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete"

    Also:
Go to Control Panel>User Accounts>Change the way users log on, and make sure that "Use welcome screen" is checked.

If none of these work, tell us what operating system you have, and if you did anything just before it stopped working. Also, which accounts are admin and which are limited user accounts?

You might also consider a restore back to when it was working.

OK, there's a long thread here that might help:

Maybe start at the bottom - a post by KindBullet on 23 December seems to have had some success. Be careful if you make changes in the registry - only do what is suggested.
    I don't have W7, so I can't check it out. Anyone else?
BTW, are you on a domain? It seems to make a difference.

    Nice work guys!

tomg, was deleting the .DEFAULT registry key under ProfileList the solution that worked for you?

yes.....i was quite nervous making any changes to the registry, but went in and found the .DEFAULT key and deleted it. i don't know how to back up the registry, so i just took a chance and got lucky...when i rebooted, all six user accounts were there as before. magic!

Thanks tomg, I appreciate the response. Glad to know that fix worked for you.

Right-clicking a folder or key in Regedit gives you an option to Export which makes a backup of that entry. So in your case in regedit you could have right-clicked the ProfileList folder and chosen Export. It would prompt you for a name for the file such as ProfileList_backup and save it as ProfileList_backup.reg. If something went wrong or the fix didn't work you could then right-click the file from its saved location and select Merge to restore the original settings. [I do it whenever I change anything in the registry just in case I get confused or make a mistake. Of course, it presumes that the change you make doesn't completely break Windows and you can get in far enough to do the Merge.] Once you know your changes are OK then you can just delete the backup.reg file.

I believe Erunt is a free software for completely backing up the registry. I've never bothered to set it up but it is a tool you might consider if you ever have to make changes to the registry and are nervous about the outcome.
