My PC (using WIN98) will only operate at 16 colours. I tried going into DISPLAY and changing the settings but it reverts to 16 colours.

When I scanned the hard drive the report came up "user32.dll change".

I'm guessing this could be my problem?!

Anybody got any tips on how to put it back to full colour please.

PS I don't have a start up disk

Try updating your video card drivers.

"Scanned the hard drive" for what?

I scanned the hard drive under DSKSCAN to check for errors and/or problems.

I went to Microsoft update - Drivers Section - but they say I have all drivers needed.

    That's not how it works.

The Micro$$oft update site can't be used to rely on having up to date drivers.

Download and install Everest Home Edition from HERE.

That will tell you what hardware you have and provide manufacturer's links where you can download compatible drivers.
