Hello, I wanted to know if I took my friends pc from one state to another to fix something, would I have any problem bringing up his harddrive.
I only want to replace a Sound Card if necessary? We both have Comcast internet, Thanks

I wouldn't think so. I have traveled with laptop computers to other countries and didn't have a problem.

What do you mean by "bringing up his harddrive"?

What does that have to do with your computer, or replacing a sound card?

You should be able to connect your computer to his network, no problem - especially if by Ethernet. If you plan to connect via wifi, you will, of course, need the wifi passphrase.

The fact you both have Comcast is not an issue.

and the other way around. The poster is bringing someone's computer to his home in another state. So you can connect his computer to your network and work on the computer to download the driver, if needed, when you install a new sound card.

Bad idea!
Format is a software solution. At this point, we don't know if the "new" sound card actually works. I suspect the OP purchased a used sound card because it is going in an older computer. You never use a software solution before you have ruled out that the problem is NOT hardware.
