Using domain profile locally

I am stumped. Our laptops that came straight from the manufacturer allow users to use their domain username/pwd when not connected to the network. Obviously it's caching their domain profile after they logged in at least once, and then allowing it to be used locally when not connected. But how does one set this up on a PC? Can't be too hard to do but I am not finding the solution. Any ideas?

    Should be the same.

Once you've logged into the domain once, your credentials should be cached so you can log "onto the domain" while not connected to the network.

You may want to review this Microsoft KB titled, Cached credentials security in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, and in Windows 2000.

Thanks, I'll check it out, but I have PC's that do not allow for using the cached domain profile, so there must be a switch to turn on/off somewhere?

You'll have to provide more information!

    What OS's? What edition?
Any changes to user accounts recently?

It's fixed. The PC can only cache 10 profiles, and it was maxed out. So I deleted some profiles that were no longer used, and did a regedit and bumped that number up to 15. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172931/

    Thanks for the help! :thumbsup
