using the logitech g35 with an ear force dss on a ps3?

I know this is typically a computer forum but there is more brains gathered here than i could find on google.

for xmas my brother bought me a pair of logitech g35 headphones with the impression that since they were usb they could be used on ps3 well that's not the case I can get mic through them but no in game sound, support forums on the web have said you could use a receiver to get the ps3 sound so we thought that the turtle beach ear force dss would work so he bought me that for my birthday and still no sound through the headphones.

any other ideas? or any idea how to make this work?
