Using two ISPs concurrently

Hi, i play poker on the net a lot, and HATE it when i get an isp dropout

I am thinking of getting a wireless broadband connection, to use when the cable drops out

How can i configure this properly?

I think it has something to do with redundant links, but really need a 'dummies guide' of how to set it up!

probably cause wifi is prone to drop outs as well, and usualy bandwidth caps. To truely do this right, you need to have a duel wan connection, which is a costly item more then likely, unless you get lucky.

 

Cant change, cause the broadband is paid by the old man!

Only get a dropout or two every day or two, but this can be a major pita when playing for $ on net poker

Is it really that hard to get another wireless modem (at bugger all cost), and somehow hook both modems up to the one computer?

Keep the broadband on all the time, and when it goes off, automatically switch over to the wifi?

Is this something to do with redundant links? Or something else?

 

This is what I know on the subject. Windows by default uses the most recent network connection. THis means that if you have the cable connected then turn on the wireless Windows will us the wireless connection.

I also know this. When I have two connections (wireless and ethernet) even on the same router I get disconnected for a few seconds if I turn the active connection off.

I do believe (and this is just wild speculation) that it is possible to do what you want to at the router level where it appears to the PC to be one connection.

I hope someone else has the answer because I'm also curious as to how this will work exactly.
