Can anyone tell me what is the best way to set up the ports in uTorrent as I dont even know what it means. I want the fastest for downloads and best for saftey if possible.

I dont understand what the ports are. I wouldve thought there is only 1 port, the ethernet one! But obviously that isnt correct!

Also the best settings for bittorent and queing in the options if poss?

    Thanks ;)

A Software Port (usually just called a 'port') is a virtual data connection that can be used by programs to exchange data directly, instead of going through a file or other temporary storage location. The most common of these are TCP and UDP ports which are used to exchange data between computers on the Internet.

Your ethernet connection is divided into 65 535 different ports actually!

This link will lead you to utorrent's FAQ on port settings. This should answer most questions. Post back with any more.

It says in Wikipedia the ports are 0 to 65535
But says on uTorrent you cant use 6881-6889 and its best to use one over 10000.
    So anything from
10000 to 65535. Should be ok?

What about the other settings I mentioned below? any suggestions?
