And who better to win than Lowndes, who was Brocky's apprentice back in his Holden days. I think a lot of Holden supporters would have been happy that if a Ford had to win at least it was Craig as he and Brock were very close. Good stuff Ford i've been waiting 7 years for this

Agree with you, mgpower. What a race, lots of safety car episodes, and a thrilling finish. Being a Holden fan, I hoped Skaife would win but he was out on the first lap.

Too many stoppages to make it great race. Lowndes was visibly affected, both before and after the race, for the reasons explained by mgpower. Probably, realistically, no better choice of driver to win the King of the Mountain (Peter Brock) trophy than Lowndes. Bazza

Just heard on the radio that the driver most seriouly injured in a support race on Friday has died of his injuries. Altogether, a sad Bathurst weekend. Bazza

 

Yeah a sad end to the weekend. They announced his death about 9.30 pm last night. Almost seems like his family were waiting until the race was finnished before turning off his life support R.I.P Mark Porter

 

Very sad indeed. Death is getting far too popular at the moment.....
