Ok folks, we all take vacations and during those vacations most of us don't eat very well. I thought it would be beneficial if we shared some of those hot spots of culinary perfection that you may locate while driving across the countryside. These can be either really expensive, 5 star restaurants or some mom and pop roadside greasy spoon. Please include the name of the shop, the location, the approximate cost of a meal and what appealed to you most (decor, atmosphere, taste, variety, etc.).

On our vacation this year we enjoyed eating at Shells in Brandon, FL (outside of Tampa). Not real certain what I had there as the first two choices they were out of (no scallops!!).

On our way to St. Augustine we stopped at the Turtle Shack, Flagler Beach, FL where I had a fried shrimp po-boy. Great place right on the beach!

At St. Augustine we ate at The Conch House. We both had the fried combo platter, rather pricey but well worth the cost IMHO. We had enough to eat for lunch the next day!

When we went to Cherokee, NC we had to stop off at Legends Sports Grill in Maggie Valley, NC. Great burgers here folks (1/2 pounders!!!) with excellent fixings! Not too expensive and the atmosphere is great too.

We had thought about stopping off at one of our favorites, the Beef House in Covington, IN but decided to push for home instead.

Now please, post your own favorites!!
