I am working on a program that holds marks and all that information for a teacher. The program holds the marks, classes, students all of that info but I am having a big problem because I have been making seperate files for classes, assignments and i want to take certain info from each one so I can add them to my form. Now I think a database would be much easier but i have no idea how use one, or make one.

Can you help me by the following:

    1) Explain how to use more than one file and take certain info from each one: or how the database works. Thanks

    Mastermosley,
The breadth of your question cannot be answered in a single post.At most, cursory information could be provided. There is a significant amount of information to consume on this topic to build and effecitve application.

I would highly recommend you purchase a few books on the topic of Structured Query Language (SQL) .. VB6 & Databases and designing databases.

You have finally gotten to the point where you must take it upon yourself to build a knowlege set on your own. From here on out it is a lot of trial and error with questions in between.
