VB6 Help!

I unfortunately learned to program in VB6, and now I'm in a predicament. I have some programs I really want to compile and distribute to some people, but I have some edition that doesn't compile .exe files that came in the back of a book.

My question: Where can I get a real compiler? I've searched and searched. The only thing I can find is some $750 edition. Is there a third party free one? Cheap ones that no one uses anymore? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks.

 

I recall that you can compile vb6 apps via command line.. check around for that info.

 

I just tried that, but it stops me and tells me that my Working Model Edition won't compile, just like the GUI doesn't either. So does anyone have an old copy they can sell me, know of a compatible third party compiler, or know where to buy a compiler that isn't hundreds of dollars? Thanks!

 

The working model allows you to make an application but you have to purchase the standard or above version to allow you to compile and make the .exe.

 

Right. My point is that I have the WM edition and I can't compile (make .exe files). My question is WHERE to purchase the standard version. That's all I need to know. I already know my version won't make .exe's, and I can't find a version that will compile. So can someone direct me to one? Thanks.

Look around here mind you visual basic is an expensive program


There are no third party free ones the only way to get it free is to download it ilegally off of a p2p program
