I'm running SciTech Display Dr. 6.53 on an older Pentium I system. Suddenly it's VBE functions don't work correctly. I have a suspicion it's either the installation of the Opera web browser or the AVG Free Edition boot up scanner knocking out its VBE functions at bootup. But this is just a hypothesis. The error I get says You: *MUST* call VBE_init() before you can call the VesaVBE.C module!!

Anyone good with VBE on older 9x OS's?

    Recent installs:

    AVG Free Edition
    AvP Gold Edition
    Adobe Acrobat 4.0

I had that error on my original PC, I think (166mhz Pent) - I don't remember exactly what caused it but I believe I fixed it by installing the latest drivers for my graphics card - but that was about seven years ago, so my memory may be faulty . . .

Thanks for the input. The problem seems to have cleared up. I REMarked out the AVG bootup scanner in Autoexec but the problem only cleared up a few reboots later? I dunno. I'm baffled.
