Verifying DMI pool data Boot from CD

Hey guys,

I have a windows vista home basic computer. It's having some problems and I wanna install XP on it. I have the XP CD (full) w/ the key but for some reason every time I try to boot it, it says:

Verifying DMI pool data
Boot from CD:

After that, I press the space bar but nothing happens. It just says that. Also, after a while, it'll boot into vista again.

I just wanna install XP but I'm not sure how to do this? Also, how can I find drivers for the motherboard?

AMD 3200+ Sempron
512MB DDR2
160GB SATA HD
MCP61M-AM Motherboard

If you're getting the "Boot from CD:" message and nothing else, then something is wrong. With the XP disc in the drive, you should get "Press any key to boot from CD...." shortly after the "Boot from CD:" message. Make sure the Windows XP disc is clean and not scratched. To be sure the drive can read the Windows XP disc, boot to Vista. Let it load up completely, then open "Computer". Pop the XP disc in the CD drive. If an XP window doesn't open, double-click the CD drive icon. If nothing happens, then there's a good chance the disc is somehow faulty (scratched or not burned correctly) or the drive itself is bad. If you get some files listed after double-clicking the CD drive icon, post the file names here, and we may be able to advise you as to what's going on. Before you commit to installing XP, make sure you can get the drivers for Windows XP before installing!!! Many people have dumped Vista and installed XP only to find that there are no drivers for their hardware for XP. They end up with no sound, limited graphics, no internet, etc.
