very dark screen

    hello
    i have old mag screen which is very dark i played with with cable between my
    computer and my screen and my screen became brighter
    i noticed that the cable that connected to my pc isnt connected good enough
    but i cant pull out the cable from the screen
    maybe its the display card ?
    please help
