Hi, recently my computer has been running pretty slow especially on start up. I looked at my task manager and I noticed the cpu usage was constantly around 85+ percent with all the use coming from cmd.exe even though no cmd screen was open. Once I ended the task everything was running at normal speeds. Other than the slow speeds there isn't any sign of a virus so that's why I'm posting here first to get some opinions. I'm running windows 7 ultimate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just rebooted after updating W7 and noticed it had way more Services running than my previous settings. During my quest to get it back to normal, I noticed a new entry for cmd.exe at boot - but only for Safe Mode (I haven't checked Safe Mode yet to see what, if anything it does). So, it may be that WU messed up a little for you.

StartupCPL (install it then run it from Control Panel) should list all startups (and allow you an easy way to disable any you don't need), you can get it to save a list. Post the list here as an attachment if you'd like a second opinion on anything.
