    I have a toshiba satellite L55-B5133 laptop with windows 10. Over the past week, it has become noticeably slower. In the last two days I have problems accessing the internet - despite the fact that other devices have no problem accessing the router. Right now the only way that I can access the internet on the computer is through safe mode with networking. The problems seemed to coincide with updates to commodo and another spyware item I had on the computer. I tried removing these items and it seemed to help with internet access and now it does not work at all. I have run through your suggestions and am attaching the logs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Remove everything ADW found.

    Rerun RogueKiller and remove these items:

    Reboot and rescan with ADW, RogueKiller and also get me the log from Hitman.

    Thanks Tim! I am working through your suggestions now. I thought I had attached the Hitman log and it shows up as one of my recent items. However, when I try to find it, it says the item cannot be found and would I like to open a new one. I already started rerunning RogueKiller to delete the items you suggested. I will run Hitman right after this and send you the log before going through the sequence with ADW and RogueKiller again. My apologies!

    Tim, as suggested, I ran RogueKiller and deleted the specified items.

    I then ran ADW and RogueKiller and am attaching the logs.

    I also ran Hitman again after the other two. I remember now why there may not have been a log the first time. At the end of the program, after successfully completing (it seems), when I tried to generate a log the program had to shut down as I was doing this. It happened again, but I opened the program to save the log (see attachment). This sudden shut down happened twice with Hitman.

    Let me know what you think. Thank you!

    Please clean out what ADW found.

    Please remove these items in RogueKiller:

    ¤¤¤ Files : 2 ¤¤¤
    [File.Forged][File] C:\Windows\System32\drivers\rdpvideominiport.sys -> Found
    [PUP.Mindspark][Folder] C:\Users\Jane\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hruy1jyb.default\MyTransitGuide_b7 -> Found

    After doing the above, reboot and tell me how things are running.

    No luck:( I cannot connect to the internet on the computer via wifi. I have ensured that it is enabled and tried troubleshooting multiple times. It basically says, "Wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration." However, other devices can access the wifi with no problem.

    Your logs are free of malware. I suggest you post in the software forum as this sounds like a software issues.

    You might try removing commodo and seeing if that effects it, after a reboot.

    You can try using Revo Uninstaller to remove that program.

    Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Thanks Tim - I appreciate it! So given that the wifi works in safe mode with networking but not in regular mode suggests that it is not a hardware issue - correct?

    Thank you for all of your time!

    Yea....not hardware....did you uninstall Comodo? Try doing that.

    Thanks Tim! I am going to try to do that momentarily. However, I kind of went nuclear on it decided to reset my computer (but keeping personal files) . . . as a result the internet is still problematic (some of what is left seems kind of random) so I am going to do a full reset once I double check that everything I want is backed up. It sounds like Revo Uninstaller is the best one to use at this point?

    You used to have a thread for setting up a "new computer." does this still exist? I was not able to find it when I searched. I really appreciate your help!

    I am afraid that thread went when we switched to a new format.
