very slow searching

    hello everyone, i have just changed my isp and also reinstalled windows xp on my machine. i am also on broadband and have the fastest speed available on the home uk market. the problem is that my searches take ages and quite often web links dont work atall. everything else is fine, my machine is virus and rootkit free and my emails are instantaneous, could anyone give me an idea what is going on and how i might solve it, thanks for looking, yours jason.confused

    Perhaps the settings for your browser aren't correct or the firewall is causing a conflict.

    You say you've just changed ISPs - if you've only just gone onto broadband and are using a software firewall, perhaps there is a problem there.

    Post details of your computer, modem, security software being used and information about when you went broadband. Someone here should be able to tell you what to change if the firewall and modem are in conflict.

    I took the bit about searching to mean searching on the internet - could you clarify this please, eeze2020? It isn't clear which you meant. :)
