Very Strange AIM Problem

    hey, for the past few days i have had a problem with aim, its is very strange so please bear with me as i try to explain what is happening, and if this problem was posted before i am sorry, i didn't do a search to see what it was....

    ok so whenever i IM someone or someone IMs me i will or they will receive it, but once another IM is sent it is not received until the IM Window is closed, in which case another window opens with the previous IM and this happens with every IM sent, and if someone has an away message up it will be sent to me and i will be unable to stop it.....it is very strange so i am just wondering if someone has every heard of this problem, if anyone knows what is wrong and if i can fix it, thanx alot, Rich

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

    Right now I doubt this is malware related but the only real way to know is for you to follow our cleaning procedures. Before that you could just try this AIM Fix which sometime resolves problems related to AIM.

    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
