VHS to DVD

How do I transfer VHS to DVD?I've tried several Video Progams, MS Movie Maker and a stand alone D-Link Converter.I do not want to make movies .I'm far too old to learn about transitions and frame rates.Can it be done?

An easy way is to buy a standalone dvd recorder - plug your vcr into it, and record your tapes onto a new dvd.
I bought a Lite-On 5005 for $125 last year, and have transferred about 30 vhs tapes so far, and it works great.

Wish they were that price in Australia. I think $400-$500 is the OZ price at the present. hell some stores are still asking around $125 for a DVD player. Bazza
