I am new to the forums and I need some help. I am interested in transfering and editing analog video from my Camcorder to my PC. I have a HP Pavilion MX70 with a Pentium 3 processor. What video capture card or device would you suggest for my setup to obtain optimal performance during use of the editing and transfer.

Is the on in the third link a good one? I have seen several of those on ebay for about a third of that price. BTW Thank You for the input.

I used to be in an art school where we learned visual effects & motion, so i have some experience with the camera and capturing. The main thing that i could suggest is to get a DV Camcorder (which uses small DV tapes), or digital, with firewire connection. That way you can open up Premiere (for ex.), and upload your recording. Once you are there, you will have full control of your settings, and you can splice up the clips however you want etc. One other thing, i have a P4 133 Ghz w/ 384 Mb of RDRAM w/ an Ati Radeon 9800 Pro (128 MB), and my system would sometimes lag (not always). So....i would look into getting some sort of graphics card accelerator (maybe Nvidia professional rendering cards, not for gaming!), and a faster processor, or better fans for the CPU. Hopes this helps!
