Video Card Advice

Ok, My Nvidia 128 4200ti seems to be on the fritz. It's fan isn't working all the time. AND I want a better video card. The wife gave me the ok and I would like your feedback on it. The one I am considering is a ATI Radeon 9550 256MB DDR 8X AGP Card with CRT+TVOut - ATI Radeon 9550 256MB CRT+TV 8X. It is in my price range. If you could steer me towards or away, I need to do something soon. What I mainly use my home PC for is gaming and a few other tests that don't require much in the video dept. Would love to know your input.

If I remember correctly, the 9550 outperforms the 5700LE, but to be sure, do a search for reviews on the 9550. it is a better card than the 9600. It comes in a few versions depending on card manufacturer, and the performance is not the same on all. A little research would be worth your while.Good luck.

 

try not to go for LE/SE cards since they are boggled down versions of em' the 9550 is a bogged down version of a 9600. You seem to be aiming towards mid card performance range so dont even bother with 256MB since it wont help at all.
