Video card and XP Problems

I have a Voodoo 3 videocard, which works, but when I try to install XP it doesn't anymore. It works fine untill it copied all the files and rebooted. Then when it should say the "39 minutes left", the screen goes all kinds of colors so that i can't see anything. i know this card works since i had it in a different XP computer. I does work when i install 2000 Pro, but i can't get the XP to work.....how can i go around this problem/fix it
