    Hi,

This is a reasonably new computer (couple of months) and the problem we have has been coming up every maybe 2 weeks (no pattern).

The problem is: when the computer is turned on the screen goes really weird... it apparently does show what it is supposed to because when I move the mouse I can track it down the screen (see the big squares where the pointer is changing to a whitish color).

What is wrong with my computer/video card.. any hardware??

(i'm pretty sure this is the computer we got :))

    Video card: GF 8600GS 256MB
OS: Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit
    ALL CABLES ARE CORRECTLY SET-UP!!

I uploaded a little video of what happens when I get the problem, PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT IT!!

    Any help/tips much appreciated..

Check with another card (if you can find),to confirm your suspicion. If you have a GPU with a fan Check to see that maybe the fan is stop spining.

"Check with another card (if you can find),to confirm your suspicion."

Did you do this? Can you find another graphic card?If you still see those lines even with another card, then something else is the problem.

"If you have a GPU with a fan Check to see that maybe the fan is stop spining."

When you open the side of your computer, see if fans in your computer is clean from dust,(DO THIS ONLY IF YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT UNDER WARANTY,IF IT'S UNDER WARANTY SEND THE COMPUTER IN COMPUTER SERVICE).

It happened again and this time i noticed an error message. I managed to take a screenshot of it because i couldn't read it because the screen went really weird again.

The message I got was: "Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working"

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

So I guess its not a hardware problem..

If the computer is only a couple of months old, then by all means, take it back to the seller.
If the seller has evidence that you have been inside the case, it will probably void your warranty.
