My ATI x700 Pro AGP card died after a mere 1.5 years. I have no idea why. I did not overclock it either. Now I need a new card.

My problem is that I was going to just get a new PCI express euipped rig in January of so. My dead card has complicated things. Instead of a total upgrade now, I will just get a new and better card - which limits me to an AGP due to my current mobo. Specs are in my sig.

I have not been keeping current with all of the advances and improvements regarding video cards. So, what card to get? I know the x700 was not a hotrod, but it performed admirably. I know my rig is not going to set any speed records, but I think with a better card I could realize maybe a 10 - 15 percent increase in performance. SO, what to get? I am looking to spend about $200-225 or so. I will keep the card about a year. I play stuff like Oblivion, LoMac, Il2, Warhammer, etc.

I need a pretty fast repsonse here as I am going shopping ASAP!

    Thanks for any input.

Don't buy any of the really nice AGP cards. Theyre ripoff prices. Best bet would be to spend ~100$ temporarily until u can upgrade to pci-e. I would say an x850 pro at most (theyre about $150 I think)
